Easy Zero Waste Bathroom

Here are simple ways to transition to a Zero waste bathroom.

Cotton Swabs

This is probably the #1 item in our trash bin. The alternatives are compostable buds/ reusable silicone swab buds or the stainless-steel reusable ear picks.

Toilet Paper

Switch to toilet paper made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved paper and recycled paper.

Toothbrush

You can switch to a bamboo base toothbrush.  Note that not all bamboo toothbrushes are created equal so do some research about this so that you have all the information you need before transitioning.

Toothpaste

Look for natural toothpaste in zero waste containers.

Soap

Switch to a bar body soap and a bar shampoo. Look for locally made soaps at your local stores and at farmer’s markets.  Alternatively, you can make your own.

Remember that transitioning to zero waste takes time. Some of these items are hard to find. Continue looking, continue experimenting and you'll find something to replace a conventional bathroom product.
