How to Make Your Travel More Sustainable

When travelling… do you think about the environmental footprint you’re leaving behind?

Travelers need to be aware of how their travel choices affect the world around us. We should all take the time to learn how to lessen our personal footprints and respect our planet and all its life.

Sustainable travel involves making a positive impact on the place we visit as tourists. That means being conscious of our actions as tourists and making sure we don't have a negative impact on the destination's environment, economy, or society.

There are many steps we can take when we travel. The easiest way to limit the use of disposable plastic products is to carry a refillable water bottle when we travel. Just make sure that the local tap water is safe to drink!

Other ways to reduce the amount of disposable plastic used on holiday is to bring a canvas tote bag for shopping, bring reusable/compostable utensils (If you plan on eating takeaway), reusable plastic straws and other eco-friendly products.

Please refrain from taking part in any activities which take advantage of or exploit captured wildlife. If you’re willing to go a step further to protecting the environment and setting an example even through your travels, you could incorporate eco-friendly activities such as picking up trash as you hike down a mountain or cleaning up after yourself and others at the beach.

Be it reducing the usage of single-use plastics or making the effort to conserve water, any small steps you take to protect the environment builds up in the end.

At The EcoFairy, our goal is to help you build a more sustainable life by offering you a line of reusable products. We offer products that last and that will help you reduce the amount of plastic you use.
